Today on Sunday Revisit we return to a time Aussie Gen Xers and ageing millennials allied with an alt/indie sound can relate to – Aus Music 90s alternative/indie

I recently attended a 90s trivia night at an intimate venue in Brunswick, the host (Jane Gazzo), fashionable with triple j listeners old enough to have got legally drunk during the closing decade of the most recent century, delivered a questionnaire that well and truly resonated with me, so much so, it reintroduced countless recollections from my flannel wearing younger years.

Moved by the flood of memories, I put together a playlist of songs featuring alternative/indie Australian artists from the 1990s. It includes music from Geelong originated rockers Magic Dirt, Melbourne based punks The Meanies, Sydneysiders, Clouds, a favourite, Screamfeeder, Angie Hart’s indie pop outfit Frente and Jay and the Doctor’s Frenzal Rhomb, the list is an hour and a bit of 19 carefully compiled songs….

you’ll never have so much fun.
